Trouble with DLC

I'm playing on the PS3. I've successfully downloaded the Caravan pack, but now I can't find my gear. Is there some where I'm supposed to go and find it? Or should I have started with it?

It should be automatically added to your inventory.

You should have started with it the second you wake up at the docs. Not sure what's wrong there.
