This game is out sooner than I thought, and I need to preorder it.

I have a 360, which is what I originally got FO3 for, but I wonder if I should get this game for pc instead?

Oblivion runs like a dream on high settings on my laptop, and FO3 runs pretty damn well too on high settings.

I've an M11x, I should get at least 360 settings out of that, no?

Pc because of mods

If Fallout 3 runs well on your laptop I presume this one will as well.
Its the same engine just optimized according to the devs.

I would say PC cause then you can use mods which always improve games like these

List the pros and cons then decide.

Pros:
PC: May run better, modding, mouse and keyboard (if you like that), no RRoD, cheaper, it was originally made for PC (franchise)

Xbox: Joystick (if you like that), ability to play it laying down, sick, just generally more comfortable. No system requirements problems, bigger screen, better sound (sometimes)

Cons:

The opposite of what's listed above for each thing.

pc good only for mods and 360 for easy controls,graphics and get dlc early,but if your pc can run it and you have fun with fallout 3 get it for pc.Personally im getting it for 360 because my pc can't run it and controls are easy have fallout 3 for 360 so if i was you i'd get 360 and in the future for pc.

Why do people think you can't use an Xbox controller with the PC version? I have my PC connected to a big HDTV, killer surround system, and I can use a 360 controller if I want to. I'm not weighing in for either side, but seriously, why do people think you're forced to use they keyboard?

Anyway, if I can get a game for the PC that's what I do, and if I can't then I'll get it for the 360. On the PC the games are cheaper (I just got Left 4 Dead 2 and Blur brand new for $20 for both, for example), can potentially have much better graphics and more going on in the game due to more processing power, can use the same TV, surround system, and controller the 360 does, etc.

The main reason I can see not to go with the PC is simplicity. There's no doubt that gaming is simpler and less of a hassle on consoles, and that's a 100% legit reason to prefer them. Most of my friends that don't game on PCs just don't want to deal with them, and that's fine too.

the only cons to the PC opposed to the 360 version is the installation process, where on the 360 you can just put in the disc and play, still installation process takes what 15 min???? but for waiting 15 min your reward would be a moddable game, better graphics, sound ect.... like i said earlier PC no debate

As fantastic as mods are, they don't automatically make the PC a better choice for everyone. I have a PC that's more than capable of running New Vegas, but I'll be getting the game for the 360 for many different reasons, one of the big ones being that it's just easier for me to find time to play on my 360 than it is my PC, since I use it for manyyyyy other things whenever I sit down and use it. Another big reason is my best and dearest friend is getting it for his 360 (he has a family that's constantly using his PC, but not his 360), and we enjoy talking while playing and guiding each other through the wasteland, and commenting on how screwed we are whenever we come face to face with a Deathclaw unprepared.

I'm not getting into a debate about which is better, I'm just saying that there could be reasons why someone would want to get the 360 version over the PC version. And really, I dislike these threads since they always turn into a huge fight about who's system is better, and people not respecting others opinions. :glare:

This is not true. I get one, maybe two new games a year.
Those freaks in Gamestop in their black robes discussing games and saying and I quote "Wow this game is still in its original packaging from the release date in October 2007" are another story. I also know nothing about hooking up my computer to my TV or how to use an Xbox controller with this. But now, I am a bit intrigued - I'd rather save $10 and still be able to play on my TV and use my controller.

That's true once you have your gaming PC all set up. For a lot of people just figuring out what to buy is enough to deter them from getting into PC gaming. For me it's a no brainer...I prefer gaming on the PC. Some people would rather not have to deal with deciding which video card to buy and all that. I totally get it. To me it's worth a little bit of extra work, but to some it's not.

All depends on taste and what suits a person best.
I ain't looking for a system fight either.
Got all 3, a good PC, a 360 and a PS3 but for these type of games I prefer PC cause I will be using mods in the long run.
If the OP ain't looking out for mods nor for higher graphics resolutions then he might as well get it for his 360.

PC. If you have a machine capable of running it you NEED to get it for PC. Mods, user-made bugfixes, devconsole, better graphics, better controls...you cna't go wrong.

PC version is superior in every way.

More flexibility, better graphics if you got the proper hardware, and mods. Plus you can use a 360 controller if you wanted.

not always plug in you're HDMI cord, you'll be amazed how good they are on the 360.
