The 5 Steps Of Brink Grief

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 10:01 am

1) DENIAL

In the denial stage we refuse to believe what has happened. Your copy of the game is messed up or a patch will come out in a short few days to fix it.

2) BARGAINING

Often we will offer something to try to take away the reality of what has happened. We may try to make a deal, we write very detailed intricate posts in forums trying to reason with the developer on how to fix things. We talk about the good things about the game. How much potential the game has and try to motivate and possible developers reading to fight to make the game what he think it should be.

3) DISAPPOINTMENT

Disappointment is a very likely outcome for all people that purchase badly made games. This is what I would consider the most difficult stage of the five to deal with. There can be a the feeling listlessness after your first rage quit. You will try to play again.

4) ANGER

We get angry. The anger can manifest itself in many ways. We can rightfully blame the developer. We can become easily agitated having emotional outbursts on the forums and in the developer blogs. We can even become angry with ourselves. Care must be taken here not to turn this anger inwards. Release of this anger is a far better way to cope with anger. Its not your fault. Let it out.

5) ACCEPTANCE

The final stage of Brink. It is when you realize that life has to go on and things will never be what you how you think it should be. You can here accept your loss. You should now be able to regain your energy and think about future games. It may take some time to get here but you will.

Fail, poll is fail.

Some people like Brink, some people don't (the vocal minority obviously make that clear). I happen to be one of those people who like it, and I know quite a lot of other people who do as well.

This is a very hateful thread :poke: , you could change it to not have denial in the poll. I will not be taking part in this poll unless it is fixed :meh:

Maybe add a option in the poll towards people not feeling any of these choices, I (and the people above me) like Brink. Maybe add an "Enjoyment" option.

i wonder how long until this gets locked for ranting and basically another random forum troll. The games got flaws right now sure there fixing them least there only lag issues and not. Over powered guns the non skilled ability to break the ability to snipe by exploiting a glitch. Oh and general boring game play of another re skinned COD game. Thank you good day get out of the forums if your hear to cry.

I don't have any Mr.Noodles in my pantry broseph.

Anyway, I think we should just let the developers do their job and fix what they said they would and we'll see from there, mmkay?

At first I went "Huh, Mr Noodles? Is that some sort of Canadian thing?"

And then I looked it up and sure enough I was right.

That's what I call using your noodle hyuck hyuck hyuck

I sure hate to lock this since I added such a good poll choice but alas, folks are calling folks trolls which is btw against the rules of this forum and can get you an official warning and a bit of time off. Just report it if you think someone is trolling, don't fee them or call them names. :)

Otherwise, this was seemingly a very biased poll as it started and gave no room for disagreement or discussion unless you agreed with the poster. Flamebait really.

OP, I suggest you add a step and that step would be to wait patiently for a week and see if your issues aren't fixed by patches. Much easier than being dramatic on the internet. Sometime, no really often, new games have problems. Not everyone is having your problems. That doesn't make it better for you but you have to remember that most who have no problems are playing the game and not here complaining.

If there is an issue we can help you with or that you wish to share with developers who are trying desperately to patch the game, please do so in the appropriate hardwater & software Brink section. 'Tis good to share your problems and take interest in helping with a fix instead of disrupting a forum. :spotted owl:
