In the denial stage we refuse to believe what has happened. Your copy of the game is messed up or a patch will come out in a short few days to fix it.
2) BARGAINING
Often we will offer something to try to take away the reality of what has happened. We may try to make a deal, we write very detailed intricate posts in forums trying to reason with the developer on how to fix things. We talk about the good things about the game. How much potential the game has and try to motivate and possible developers reading to fight to make the game what he think it should be.
3) DISAPPOINTMENT
Disappointment is a very likely outcome for all people that purchase badly made games. This is what I would consider the most difficult stage of the five to deal with. There can be a the feeling listlessness after your first rage quit. You will try to play again.
4) ANGER
We get angry. The anger can manifest itself in many ways. We can rightfully blame the developer. We can become easily agitated having emotional outbursts on the forums and in the developer blogs. We can even become angry with ourselves. Care must be taken here not to turn this anger inwards. Release of this anger is a far better way to cope with anger. Its not your fault. Let it out.
5) ACCEPTANCE
The final stage of Brink. It is when you realize that life has to go on and things will never be what you how you think it should be. You can here accept your loss. You should now be able to regain your energy and think about future games. It may take some time to get here but you will.
