Will the Collector's Edition receive Pre-Order Bonus Packs?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 1:31 am

So I was reading on GameFAQs.com and came across this topic/thread: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/959557-fallout-new-vegas/56744468

After reading that, I checked the Amazon.com website to see if there was any truth to that and then got a little worried. I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition of Fallout: New Vegas from Amazon.com on October 1st and back then (On that day) the Tribal Pack was still listed as a pre-order bonus. (For both Collector's Edition AND standard/regular.) Now, the website only shows the Tribal Pack to be available for the standard/regular version of the game.

Does this mean I will not get the Tribal Pack from Amazon since I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition and not the standard/regular?

I can live without it, but I was hoping to get the Tribal Pack with my Collector's Edition.

Thanks in advance for any answers to my questions.

By the way, I'm new here and it's nice to be amongst you all.

(For the record, I did use the search function for this forum, but it was a little different to use from most forums' search functions and there were 1000 results to sift through. My apologies if this topic/thread already exists and has been answered.)

If Amazon.com said you would get the Tribal pack when you ordered, you'll get the tribal pack. Changes that occured after you ordered aren't going to affect you, especially not without some form of notice from the website to your email. I think they probably just put that up there because they ran out of CE's?

It wouldn't make sense for pre-order bonuses not to work with the collector's edition because there isn't a single difference between the actual games in both editions, it's just that with the collector's edition it's in a pretty box and surrounded by swag.

Ah, I see. You could be right, thank you for answering.

It's just that I've been hearing that the bonus packs/pre-order bonuses for this game will be inside of the game box/case instead of on a piece of paper, receipt or in an e-mail. (I'm guessing Amazon will notify me about my Pre-Order just before or on release date.)

Has it been confirmed that they are included inside of the game box/case? How about inside of the Collector's Edition game box/case? That's all I want to know for now, otherwise, I'll wait for notifications from Amazon on or just before release date.

Thanks again!

I understand that. I never did say it would not work. I am just a little worried that the pre-order bonus pack will not be included inside of the box and it will only be Collector's Edition stuff. (Not that it's a bad thing, but still...)

I'm 99.9% sure that in the recent Bethesda podcast where they took Fallout New Vegas questions they mentioned that the codes will be in the boxes. I can only imagine that if the codes are already in the boxes for the standard edition then there's no reason they can't be put into the boxes for the collector's edition.

If you absolutely need to know for sure, you could always call Gamestop and see what they say. If Gamestop says the codes will be available with the collector's edition, then it will likely be the same with the copies sold by Amazon.

Alright, that's good enough for me, and so I have no further questions. Thank you very much.
