Single Player campaing?`

Just wondered what everyone else thought about the single player campaign, as i was pretty dissapointed. I heard it was gonna have really good story driven game, and exploring the ark, nice founder area run down guests area etc, so i just assumed it would have an actual single player campaign, and you would be able to explore the ark in all its digital beauty, (the graphics are really great)

but instead all i got was (yet again) a game which is simply a multiplayer game (ie counterstrike). take a multiplayer map, throw in some bots and chuck in a bit of weak story line and pretend its a single player campaign.

But im sorry playing a multiplayer map with bots does not make a single campaign!!!!

well did i get it all wrong? was there never gonna be a single campaign?
OR did they change their direction during production? i did see a vid on youtube showing a really different looking way the game played out, with the bots standing talking to you etc before the match starts.

what do you think??

I guess i was thinking somewhere inbetween halo and fallout. actually get to play a campaign with a good story, and walk around the ark exploring it etc. instead, just finish this objective, no time to look around, and then 30sec of intro and ending scene. actually it seems like lots of FPS games these days have become simply multiplayer games, and the so called campaigns are just so you can experience multiplayer and get a hang of it before going up against real people!!!

The bots always talked to one another and you were a silent extra - just that previously they had you walking around in a limited space in 1st person (probably with invisible walls to stop you going too far astray before the mission started).

Now it lets you see your character in the background of the cutscenes, being all "extra-ish" and stuff. The story hasn't changed, just the way it's told.

Also, this way, you get a lobby-type menu option when you're watching the scene - you can set your class, swap weapons, and prepare for battle.
