Victor acting as Companion

So the recent update just hit, so I shut down the game, let the patch run, and turn it back on. Satisfied with the updates I turn around only to discover Victor is now standing nearby. Clicking on him, I get the companion wheel all of a sudden. Now he doesn't follow me, though the rest of the commands seem to be functioning. However, in dialogue I can't dismiss him, so I doubt this was intended, and he shows up next to me like a companion despite the fact I told him to stay put.

Now normally I don't work with companions (I like the solo sniper approach most of the time), however, this current play through I'm considering it. Now I got Cass with me, but I'm worried that with Victor suddenly getting lonely and deciding to pretend to be my companion, that my other companion slot is now full.

Is anyone else getting this issue? Or is it just me?

I have shut off all mods and I have sent the game back to a previous save, and still he acts as if I recruited him.

I have Victor on my PipBoy map as a companion now saying hes located at Goodsprings. I cant actually locate him where the indicator is though. Whenever I get nearby I get a message saying

" is unconcious"

Ive searched all around where the indicator is pointing but hes nowhere to be seen.

Yeah I see that too in Good Springs

Victor will assist you in battle around Good Springs from time to time so my guess is that the game engine does this by making him a companion in the code. But now that names are on the map it shows you this invisible Victor. Still a bug but that's my guess
