ok so i turned ede over to the followers and when i got the message he was back at primm i didnt go get him immediately. i waited a good while to go back and when i finally did the quest wont finish its blacked out i even got him in my party for a while but the quest wont complete..im sooo tired of these buggy glitch ridden quests..

any ideas?

Sorry dude I have no idea. At least you still have him though. After I picked him up from Primm after the quest I fast traveled a few places. Now he's lost somewhere in the Mojave for in-game weeks now. Says I still have him but he's lost forever lol.

A "go back to a good saved game" wouldn't cure that?

The Quest is finished when he returns to Primm.

It should have been blacked out (e.g. finished) when you turned him over to the Brotherhood or Followers.
