What is some of the music you are going to play while exploring the wasteland. I prefer orchestrated intense music to ambient slow music. I know some of you will hate me for saying this but i find the Halo Reach OST to flow pretty well with the wasteland (i enjoyed the soundtrack more than the game itself). Also Shadow of the Colossus OST, the Inception OST and anything by Clint Mansell. I had a similar thread about what is your favorite Game OST in CD, but this pertains directly to The Wasteland and what music works well with it. So what do you recommend listening to other than the original score?

I listen to the original tracks from FO1 & 2.

Some of the best ambient that I have ever heard. These tracks were used to "personify" each location in Fallout 1 & 2.


Tough call. Some are easier listening than others, but all can grow on you.
My favorite track flip-flops between "Khans Of The New California", Trader's Life, "City of Lost Angeles" and Flame of the ancient world.
(the last two of these can be heard freely on his website in the music section).

On the note or orchestral, I like Ludovico Einoldi, Lux Aeterna, Vanessa Mae, Some of Beethoven, Max Richter, Roberto Cacciapaglia and Isaac Albinez (not really the same thing, but oh well).

Anything before St Anger i'm okay with, but i never have been huge into Metalica. Once Nothing is interesting lately i never have been into southern metal but them and Maylene And The Suns Of Disaster are both pretty decent. When playing Fallout 3 I like to listen to Danny Kaye, The Ink Spots, Mills Brothers, Andews Sisters and lots of those old 30s/40s songs. Since New Vegas is going with more of a country/western theme I'll see if this old music fits into it but I expect it won't.

Personally if they put in ALL music from every Fallout game into this one I'd explode into happy chunks. The music from Fallout 2's main theme would sell this game for me very easily. I'm still gutted that they never put that into Fallout 3 :cryvaultboy:

Pretty much the same for me. I will likely be listening to whatever ingame radio station is offered, and wait impatiently for another radio extender mod like I have in FO3 (bah can't remember the name, it added 100 songs from the 30s/40s/50s to GNR).

I listen to the ingame music, and the inevitable ingame music extender.

The radio music suits the game's atmosphere so well there's no reason to listen to anything else, IMO. The radio is there for a reason, it really enhances the atmosphere the game is trying to create.
