1.1.1 Patch killed my FO:NV

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 9:37 pm

I installed the latest patch 1.1.1 today, now the game won't launch.

I execute the exe, the floating window appears, I click play. A few seconds pass and then nothing. Then Steam's buy more games window appears as if I exited the game. The Event log is showing this:

Event ID: 1000

Anyone else having a problem with the patch? How do I fix this?

Did you try verifying your game cache integrity, removing all mods (including the Script Extender if you have it), and resetting all preferences/ini tweaks to default values? It's hard to verify if the problem is caused by the patch itself unless we know you have a clean game install.

I removed all mods, I do not use script extender, I never touched the ini's, I haven't tweaked any of my options (all are set to ultra/maxed). The game was running fine yesterday, as soon as I installed the patch today it won't open.

Did you try verifying your game cache integrity, removing all mods (including the Script Extender if you have it), and resetting all preferences/ini tweaks to default values? It's hard to verify if the problem is caused by the patch itself unless we know you have a clean game install.

ummm easy those who had few problems will see an fps boost in alot of buildings like i get 100 something fps visually feels strange... need to pop on 3d vision, going into the ultra lux's bath house, still crashes.... so yeah i would had been happier if they didnt even bother to patch im going to go check out the other problematic areas. I just hope those of you who could not play can, oh and the strip feels more empty than before? like 7 or 9 npcs not including securitrons....

Sadly enough, I'm not the only one who is receiving the same problem with the game not starting after the patch (from what I'm reading from other posts).

So I'm quite sure now it is the patch and not my configs. :(
