what about cooking food? do you need a campfire to roast?

well there are canteens so i guess you can fill up on water. but i dunno.

We really don't know, but it is assumed that you can refill canteens with water. Or that canteens are at least multi-use consumables.

There ARE canteens...no...A canteen, if you preordered from gamestop. I THINK its no availible in the mojave desert for puchase anywhere.

im sure you can still get them, just not one from vault 13. i heard one person say theyre tied to certain outfits though so...

not all preorder items are exclusive the armored vault 13 armor, the weathered pistol, and the vault 13 canteen are the exclusive. theres probably a regular canteen in the vanilla game.

Tied to certain outfits? What are? The canteens? I'm pretty sure that you can use the V13 canteen without wearing the V13 jumpsuit.

I'd bet that vault 21 canteens are as common as spit. Hell, that doctor probably gives you one or two once he pulls those bullets out of your head.

The other whats? The other canteens? I don't think that they'd restrict you to only using one type of canteen with one type of outfit. Or restrict the use of anything per outfit really.

He means SOME outfits have canteens. You can still get canteens but SOME outfits might.

Would be great if we can but other things in the canteen like booze. Then I guess it would be a flask. Would make a good mod IMO.

Someone PM'd Gstaff who said the only canteen in the game was the Vault 13 preorder one. All other canteens are actually attached to various sets of armor camelbak-style.

At least, that's what was said. Of course, Gstaff is Bethesda and not Obsidian, and Beth's PR department said that stealthboys are chems too.

From what i've seen you need a campfire to cook food its basically like a crafting bench. I get the feeling creating a portal campfire mod would be rather easy so no doubt someone will do it fast.

As for water since hardcoe mode has a thirst bar i'd assume you can bottle water from any source. Although if you can't i'll probably go remake my Bottle that Water mod pretty much immediately since unlike Fallout 3 thirst is built into the game from the start and i intend to play hardcoe mode on all characters.

lake Mead is fresh water so it would be ideal to be able to fill up an empty bottle and store it.
