What is this melon? : Othor Games

In the bottom right I killed someone and next to my gun there is an object [people I play with insist it is a melon], so what is it and what does it mean?

Oh wait, you mean the bottom feed? I guess thats either a fist for melee or a head for a headshot.

Ya, the very bottom one, the one where I (sgt_deacon) kill someone. I know it's not a melee because I shot the person. Head shots also look very different than the melon in that screenshot.

It's not headshot, there's a different icon for that. It's also not melee, as I've seen it myself when I killed someone with an SMG.

Wish I knew what it meant. Perhaps you made a headshot, but the heatshot wasn't the killing blow?

You obviously beat them to a bloody pulp with a melon and and lost your memory due to melon-related PTSD. By that I do of course mean, you managed to pop a grenade in mid-flight to kill them.

It still could be that you shot either one of your own teammates 'nade or an enemies. I believe that ability is for shooting your own 'nade.

Check your achievements. There is one for getting a kill by shooting a 'nade. I got it and I don't have that ability on any of my characters.

It's definitly not a grenade launcher, I played as a light and I still get this. So I'm guess it's probably a nutshot.

OP, did you have the underbarrel GL?

Yes but I did not use it to get that kill. You'll notice the grenade meter is fully recharged, it would still be charging if I had used the grenade launcher to kill someone. Also grenade launcher kills show up as normal grenades, they don't have a special kill icon.

No, those look like the picture they have for that ability. I also wasn't an operative. So far I think nutshot is most likely.

I've been testing extensively. It is indeed a crotch shot.

Even without the grenade shooting ability, it is still possible to shoot anyone's grenades, although very difficult. I believe I got that symbol when I killed an enemy by shooting a grenade without even realizing it. I'd love for it to be a symbol of a crotch-shot, but I doubt it.

I myself have been asking myself the same thing...

I thought it was a grenade kill of some sort. OR... maybe it's an "Explosive" Kill? (Landmine, Satchel Charge, etc.)

That'd be QUITE hilarioooous if it was a crotch shot... if that's the case.. Well nuff said.
