What happens if steam for some reason or another goes under. Or maybe the world falls into apocalypse and steam loses power and I want to play fallout new vegas for my remaining days. Oh wait I can't because I must have an internet connection that directly connects to steam to play the game even though I have the physical disk for it and rightfully paid for. I have no problem with steam needing to run on games that I download and purchase from steam. But the reason I wanted a physical copy was so I could play even if the internet is out or steam is having problems. If the gaming industry is all moving to steam then I will refuse to buy games.
