Ringo gives me a deck and rules then we go right into the game without a chance to look at the rules. In the first screen I see a bunch of face-down cards in the upper portion, one in the center and a bunch on either side, and on the lower portion I see a bunch of face-up cards in the same configuration. I have the option to switch the middle cards, shuffle randomly or play. I hit shuffle randomly and a bunch of the face up and face down cards get exchanged. So now I have a upper portion and lower portion with a mixture of face-up and face-down cards.
At this point I decide that I am thoroughly confused enough to play. In the next screen there is a deck on the upper portion some cards drawn, same with the lower portion, and there are three spaces (caravans) for each player to put cards. Ringo goes first and places a 4 in one of his caravans, then it's my turn. The only option I get is to discard a card, the other two options are faded out, so I discard and discard and discard. And that's the only option I seem to have until I run out of cards.
So I reload the game since I lost 1/3 of my money and this time I get the deck and the rules and I say I don't have time to play. I exit the conversation, read the rules, become even more confused and disoriented and decide to just forget about Caravan altogether.
Did anyone else have this experience? Can someone explain how this game is played and what I did wrong?
Thanks,
JJ
