pre-load question

Alright, I just bought a copy of Fallout New Vegas at Gamestop. I'm wondering if I should preload the game. Does preloading take a lot longer than loading the game when it comes out. I'm only about 1% into my preloading and am wondering if I should just wait to load once the games released. Someone please give me some advice who knows what they're talking about.

Don't bother.

If you preload, you still have to decrypt when it unlocks.

Now, you only have to wait for it to unlock, and the data will decrypt from the disk.

(your trip to gamestop did the same thing that downloading via steam would do)

--- note the preload decrypt is very disk intensive, and will take at least as long as an install from disk. Probably more so, since you'd be rewriting files on the same disk, instead of copying to RAM from dvd, decrypting, and writing to hard disk
