just bought the game today (Germany) and before installing I could chose between some languages like Portugese and so on, but couldn't switch to english. Why? Is there any possibility to get the english localization since the german's svcks? Do I need to download it via Steam to get the english version? My Steam is set to english.

in steam [once u buy it, let it download and then install it] there should be language options

I tried to avoid that, it's 5 GB after all, but I guess I have to do so. Weekend ahead it should be possible.
