Warning Status

Post » Tue Mar 08, 2011 10:49 pm

I've been a member of this forum for 2 years and i have over 300 posts (don't know if that's a lot) but my status on my profile shows a warning bar and I never see one for anyone else.

Why am I so fortunate and what does it mean?

Check the forum rules thread in the sticky section. Last post, I think.

You can only ever see your own warning bar, never anyone else's. If there is any warning level you should have gotten a PM about it.

only you (and the moderators) can see your warning bar. Think of it as a, ..well, a warning bar for post outside the scope of the forum. I think it is assigned by the moderators to tell you to back off of certain posts.

Odd, I can't see a warning bar on myself but I can see one on everyone else's account. :hehe:

Waaaaa so that means moderators don't have *any* kind of warning bar? :shocking:

Thanks for the info. I guess since I'm at 0% that means I am pretty boring :(

Best way to make your warning status go up is to call someone out on something stupid they said so they get their little feelings hurt and report you.
Mods'll usually take their side. :P

If you really want it to go up just wait until you see a name in green appear in the list of people currently browsing the forum- then PM them a link to the post where you insult their hygiene and taste in music. Then you don't have bother with trolling random people and waiting for a reaction - probably the most efficient way to get yourself warned without disrupting the forums much.

And yes I do think you should bathe more than once a month and vintage recordings of drum circle sessions are not music no matter how much you like them - the moderator I'm talking about knows who they are. :whistling:

Well you shouldn't discuss your warning level in public so you may just be getting interesting ;)

Well this started out because I couldn't understand why I had one and no one else did. However, to your point I figure since we've entered an era where TSA checks your goodies before getting on an airplane nothing is sacred anymore. So let's all expose our warning status before TSA does!

Well, if you're like me you might've read some idiotic comment(s) and posted a reply or two that was against the rules. I wouldn't worry about it

I have been reluctant to post to this thread because of the very touchy nature of the subject. I was even more confused when Hungry Donner posted instead of locking it up. I had to re-read it several times before I got it. For the benefit of literalists like me (upon whom subtlety is often lost :sadvaultboy: ) lemme 'splain.

Discussing ones "Warning Status" is strictly forbidden (as Hungry Donner pointed out.) Since Suzzi has not been warned and her status is 0%, it means she was just asking about the concept of warnings and the function of the indicator bar. I guess that means she wasn't technically discussing her Warning Status—just the function of the indicator.

While not a violation of the rules exactly (until she flirted with death by mentioning she had a status of 0%—and I guess, so am I—and was tweaked by the Moderator) it would probably have been better taken up in the Community Forum.

Also it is my understanding that the warning moderator will PM the offender and fully explain what and why. i guess this is what confused me so much about the original post. if she had been warned, she should have gotten that message.

PS to Hungry Donner: I'm really not discussing a particular Warning Status; just elaborating on the concept. Now excuse me while I flee for my life :bolt:
