My summary of Fallout:NV (Video included)

Well, it was a rough ride, this game. The NPC face glitch, things flying about, subterranean radscorps, but gentlemen... This took the prize;

Warning this video is a spoiler of the end of the game, do not watch if you wish do avoid spoilers

The inherit engine flaws, bugs and glitches in this game are massive. They completely messed up my immersion in this otherwise excellent game. I cannot even see my ending because when the outro picture reel starts, FalloutNV.exe stopped working and crashes. Although I managed to record the final fight, the grand finale if you so will, and it sure added up to the immersion...

Heh, wow. I had a... not really a bug, more of an oversight during the final battle that I thought was bad...

Spoiler
Taking the legion route, I fought my way to General Oliver and easily killed him, but the quest didn't update. I enjoyed an extremely anticlimactic venture through his bunker trying to find out what I was missing before I found one of his guards stuck in a closet in the back of the building. Apparently he needed to be killed for the quest to complete, too. Additionally, once I killed him and got the ending reel the game bowed out with "And war... war never changes. *pause* *crash to desktop*"

Still nothing on your bug, though.

I feel you man

Spoiler
When in Hoover Dam, doing The House Always Wins kind of ending, i got completely lost in the overall absolutely, unreasonably large dam interior. Running inbetween powerplants not knowing what to do, and with no enemies to fight, looking for the control room. It took me like 30 minutes or more, completely ruined the atmosphere.

Had you toggled clipping (TCL) anywhere near the area beforehand? It can have some funky side effects.

If not, meh, that blows.

And svcks.

I'm still well away from completing the game although I'm nearly seventy hours in and have been trying to do everything I can on my first go. Loads of exploring hasn't yielded much by way of memorable locations, and I am starting to flag and eye other games so, I guess I'll be cutting my first play-through shorter than I would have liked and completing it one way or another. Hopefully I won't experience anything like this.

The game has been stable and solid for me throughout. Couple of broken buggy quests around Camp McCarren, one instance of a quest glitching because a companion forced an NPC to cut into its scripted dialogue and offer up a random response thing, "The NCR took back Nelson." I had to reload. Had the scorpions and ants going underground, but those tiny things aside, my game has been sweet, and stable. Nothing beyond bad level design has broken immersion for me, really. "Ooo a cave, like the other cave, with nothing in it. This is AWESOME!" Heh.

A lot of quests have been really well written though, and the major locations are all sublime. Characters and stories have been great. The game mechanics are all an improvement over Fallout 3. A lot of quests felt like jobs, though, and given how many I've completed, and how many define an area, I think replays will be hard to come by given you can think of an area and instantly remember everything about it from the quests it has and what it has to offer because you have that flag. So, I'm not sure what that means? It's hard to describe. If you name an area I can tell you what to expect from it just from its quests. Any area. So in that respect I can pretty much remember my play-through with all the clarity of any linear game. Exploring though, and those areas that don't have quests, and have been dropped in to offer something to find, are all fading to black memory-wise because there's nothing there worth remembering. Nothing I'd call an experience. lol

I agree with a lot of reviews giving 8's and 80%s. S'where I rate it overall. :shrug:

I do not think that I have toggled TLC or whatever, I am pretty sure I have not.

I definately agree with the above upgrades, but during my run of the game those upgrades where there to be seen, but behind a fog of glitches. I have a very keen eye for seeing when something is not as it should be in a game, especially one like Fallout, but this playthrough... Well let's say a blind man would figure out that this was absolutely horrid by AAA standards.
