Just in regards to the 22nd now no longer 19th unlock of fallout new vegas on steam; does anyone know if it's only the steam download version of the game that will be locked?
I will be buying the retail version of the game on the 21st and i just want to make shure I will be actually be able to play this when I get it.

You're lucky mate. I was geared up to play it Monday night, cause it said "Unlocks Monday 18th Oct" Then it switched to 19th. So I waited, NOW ITS FREAKING 22ND!. With my luck I'll be playing it with Japan in a months time...

same here, totally blows, i have it pre ordered for steam, im visiting china and the ticker said for the 19th then last night it shoots for the 22nd, what region am i based off of uk and aus or game god forbid JAPAN?????????

I just sent Steam and e-mail i suggest you guys do the same, i wasn't a [censored] about it so a ask that you guys don't be either.
If we at least bring it to there attention, who knows they may actually do something about it.

I sent one 3 days ago complaining about change in pricing (they replied saying pricing isn't in their hands) and changing release dates (Not replied back on this one yet).

I'm also waiting on reply from the ACCC to see if this is anti-competitive conduct by both Steam and Bethesda, by freely changing (both pricing and release date) without notice.

There isnt some dodgy clause when making a steam account that says they can change dates and prices without prior notice/warning. Wouldnt surprise me if there was... But the ACCC will tell you soon enough probably..

If you buy the game retail at JB HiFi or EB games and the like on the 21st, you wont be able to play until we get our region unlock on the 22nd sometime.

That doesn't make sense, the fact that "19th" was displayed for quiet awhile, and also the price "$49.95" which allowed purchases at that price quiet a while before moving it up.

Isn't this in a way of, a form of "bait and switch" ?

Thats October 18th, yesterday/today.

And again, the fact remains a number of people not just me, who saw "19th" for a good long period of time on steam.

Even if this was the case, the fact remains that Steam was able to manage to screw up the dates and pricing ? They did the same to Borderlands, and other major releases.

Like many others, we want the game already, the product we paid for.

The fact remains that I live in the UK and ive always seen the release date as the 22nd. Stop throwing your toys out of your pram because you cant play a game earlier than its intended release date. If you had done any research at all you would have known that its always been the 22nd everywhere outside of North America for a long time.

We may be getting it on the 21st here in Australia but going by that link Gstaff posted we wont be playing until 12:01 GMT on the 22nd.
What time that is here I have no idea.

Just because you can get it earlier, doesn't mean you can throw a tantrum saying "We get it early".

Please if your going to have a discussion on this topic, then please do it correctly, the fact that you lived in a totally different country does not reflect the same results to the rest of the world.

We got screwed with Borderlands, now we'll get screwed again with New Vegas.



And again, which should have been universal, many people are resorting to using VPN's and/or purchasing from overseas or even purchasing cdkeys online just because of the difference between release dates, there is nothing to stop Bethesda releasing the game early.

It screws up for the rest of us.

If people are confused about the release dates, then it's obvious it's Bethesda, for not clearing it up sooner, and letting Steam get screwed up in the mean time (i.e. bad press), plenty of people expected to play the game straight away (when they bought it) or early (when they saw count down earlier), but they could not.

And as I said, people are now resorting to importing and VPN's.
