It's that side-quest to get the teddy bear for the legion girl. I'm level 11, I persuade Antony so I fight 2 dogs not 4.

Still, I do no damage to the dogs, and they kill me in 30 seconds flat.

Any tips on how I can win them without console cheating?


Edit: Note this is the Sergeant Teddy Quest here http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Sergeant_Teddy but the wiki's got no data at all on it (as of this moment).
This is not the 'Nothing but a Hound Dog' quest...

If your sneak is good, just pickpocket the bear from him. I could never beat those damn dogs either.

I just get in close and circle the dogs, this way they can't attack you (or not as much anyway), and hit them with a flurry of machete slashes. Also use vats when possible. This worked for me, I was around lvl 16 at the time and I fought all 4, took several tries.

The dogs have 1600 HP. I think this is the highest amount of HP of any creature in the entire game. Just say 'screw it' and use console cheats, 'cause that's just ridiculous.

I second this. The mini-quest and its karma isn't even worth dealing with those dogs.
