Second Chance at Character Creation?

Post » Tue Mar 08, 2011 11:11 pm

So I've finished up rehab with Doc Mitchell, and I looked at my character, only to see that his eyebrows are pencil thin. I'd like to edit them, but I don't see a way to go back into Character Creation, like in Fallout 3 once you left the Vault. If anyone has any info on this, I'd appreciate your input. Besides my botched brows, character creation turned out a lot better than it did in Fallout 3. My character actually looks like he could be about 19, as opposed to Fallout 3, where you always looked like you were pushing 50. Anyways, any help'd be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time fellas, and happy gaming.

Yup you can, after you exit Doctor Mitchell's house and a little ways away from Goodsprings, a menu will pop up with the option to edit any part of your character, just like in FO3 or Oblivion.

Yeah you get a 2nd chance to confirm the character once you steps outside the village I believe. Happened for me when I stepped towards the Strip from the village cemetery.

Thanks to this second menu, I am now sporting the hair color I was SUPPOSED to have. The colors in the character creation screen really don't come across right once you're out in the world.

I actually feel kind of the reverse about age this time. The youngest I could get my character to look was a solid, I don't know, 35 (at least for males).

The only thing about the second chance that I don't like is that it seems to reset your appearance to default if you choose to change it. At least, it did for me. That's not so good when there may just be a couple of things you want to change.

I was so stoked to find out we got a second chance. I didn't like the +3% to crit but 15% faster weapon degradation.

I couldn't get my age to look right, but there some great facial hair choices. Wandering the wastes with a mustache chops wearing reading glasses and a cowboy hat is great.

there will likely be some npc in game that will help you change your face, like in FO3. but if not, just remember to save before you finish with all the last touch stuff and you can skip right to the last parts.
