I was wondering whether steam is actually auto-patching the game. I have been Playing New Vegas for about 3 weeks now, but until now I never realized any patching by steam. Where can I see which version of Fallout New Vegas I am running - and which is the most recent version?

Another thing: the performance of the game is largely great - even with the panoramic view and maximum graphics settings ( I am running on E8500, Geforce 285 GTX, 4 GB Ram etc.), yet there are some moments where frames decrease unexplicably despite that for example I am in relatively closed rooms or something like that.
