REQ recoverable throwing spears

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:57 pm

I just started a new game and immediately liked the new throwing spears (although the way they hang on the character's hip is ugly) so I wasted no time in equipping them and lobbing them first at the ground then at the first NPC i encountered (victor). To my dismay, i immediately ran out of spears and the ones i threw seemed to have dissolved into dust and blown away by the hot desert air.

In OB you could recover arrows, which are undoubtedly less durable and more prone to breaking than spears. Is there anyway to mod it so that spears can be recovered when thrown so they're actually a viable weapon.

Edit: I just thought it would also be good if you could toggle them between thrown and melee as you could in the first FOs.

Also, it should be a pilum or javelin, being that its usually used by the Caeser's Legion. Just something that irks me.

In Oblivion, you could only recover arrows if you got to them before the engine started garbage collection. I was an archery heavy character there and there were a lot of times where they would just vanish before I could get to them, unless I was "running and bowing" and picking them up within 30 seconds or so.

They sort of handled it in Oblivion by giving you a chance that the arrows would be found on the corpse.

(Or you may just need to add spears to CL faction merchants.)
