I can bring the son to Heck with no problems...but after that Chancey doesn't come to the steam room at all. He just wanders around the casino floor. The Beyond the Beef quest and my rep with the WGS has disappeared. I want to get the WGS to idolized. Have I missed my chance?

How did you get Heck's son out without talking to Chauncy in the steamroom? Just fight your way to him? Most of what I've experienced or read about on this quest is that the Chauncy encounter in the steamroom sets several other items in motion, so you may have indeed gotten the quest out of sequence - in essence solving it without getting credit for it.

Can you revert to a save before you rescued Heck's son and then go to meet Chauncy first?

Also, you might want to wait until the patch is released (supposedly any moment now) to see if they fixed the CTD getting out of the steamroom.

went back and resolved phebus quest

went into investigator's room and got attacked got matchbook.

went into kitchen got rid of the cook and unlocked Heck's son (no attack) escorted him back (had rep with WGS but lost it) Fallout wiki seems to believe you continue by exposing Mortimer but I can't continue quest beyond this point. I can't use the stove and when I go to St. Clair's house nothings there. Chancey doesn't show up either.
