Doing missions is the best way I have found to level up. Plenty of kills while doing the mission, and XP for beating them.

There is plenty of Animal den which Veronica is capable of clearing all by herself.

Around level 15-ish, when you can take on Cazadores... head NW out of New Vegas up into the mountains. You can make a big loop from New Vegas to Jacobstown, down through the mountain passes into the Great Khan camp, and southward again until you get back to Goodsprings. I think I started that trip at 15 and was level 18 by the time I came back to Goodsprings due to the large swarms of Cazadores up there (plus a few quests).

Explore the Wasteland. Pick a spot on the map, far from where you are, and get there. Fight everything along the way. Open every lock, hack every computer, and do every side quest you come across along the way.

You don't really need to "grind" for XP in this game. I've hit 30 without a single moment of "Okay I just need to fight stuff until I level up." Final Fantasy this ain't.

I was going to add that I'm a completionist, but that isn't a real word. It wants me to correct it to complexional or confectionist, neither of which accomplishes my goal of conveying what type of gamer I am.

Do the glitch at helios one and get 30 in about a minute, or stop at whatever level you want

In Fallout 3 I found and marked about 20 locations as my "Killing circuit". Basically, sleep for about 3 days and then fast travel to your locations and kill everything, then fast travel to the next and repeat. Once all your locations are hit, sleep for 3 more days etc.

Great to get loot to sell etc also.

Right now in NV I have a circuit that has about 15 locations for a total about about 1500-2500 exp per circuit. It is easier to get to lv 30 in NV though, so I did not try to refine my circuit much because I got up so fast.

Just look for locations where geckos spawn or fiends. Locations with multile enemies that you can hit as soon as you land are great. No walking except to get loot, then move on. I did my circuit for about a day and got over 30k caps.

If you travel in the West Central (Quarry Junction) and Northeast Center of the Map, you will encounter Deathclaws, but Quarry Junction is where you don't wan't to go when you are a low level.

YA i diddnt know that at the time i showed up at lvl 4 my first game . i managed to clear it out with mom and dad also . it did take me over and hour to do though. after that the games been pretty easy IMO. i just found an EXP exploit. And you just need to talk to get it and have just speech 25 to get 25 exp by going into the spore vault . When talking to the chick that wants you to find keely
. Pick :1 Can you tell me about keely? Then 2 Exactly how old is she ?. Then 3 What do you think about Dr Hilern? Last the( 25 speech) challange .Rinse and repeat. Its not the best way to get EXP but its the easyest IMO.

I never heard of anyone actually wanting to level up faster. Most of the complaints are that you level too fast.

But the quickest and easyest way is to pick locks. You get 20 or 30 XP for literally five seconds work. Slightly more difficult hacking terminals. Takes longer but you still get the absurd amount of XP.

Take on one of the toughest monsters in the game in a desperate battle for your life and get 60 XP, or pick a lock and get half that in about five seconds flat.

Well, I generally find there's a sweet spot in Fallout 3 (and in New Vegas).

Level 1-5 is a bit rough, because you have zero caps, hardly any ammo, and you're about as strong as a wet kitten. But by about level 10 in Fallout 3, I'm starting to hit the point where I don't worry about mole rats anymore and I'm starting to set my eyes on the bigger game. I can take most things, but the bigger critters are still scary and I have to setup the combat situation properly or it goes against me. So in FO:3, I would install an XP adjustment mod at around level 8, which would cut my XP gain down to 1/4 of normal so I could spend more time in the early-mid teen levels.

I'm not completely sure where that sweet spot is yet in New Vegas. It feels like it starts at around level 15, and I'm definitely having a lot of fun at level 20. The early levels can just be a bit tedious where one bad roll of the dice means death and dismemberment.
