I've been coming and going freely from the Brotherhood of Steel bunker. I just completed the scouts' report mission and acquired the bunker exploring mission. During this visit to the bunker, i happened to have stolen a plasma rifle from one of the elders' quarters. I don't think that's related at all but anyways now i can't leave the bunker, the door i always used says it requires a key... I dropped the rifle back hahahah but nothigns changed i still need a key... Is this a bug? How do I get out? Is it possible to pickpocket a key? I'd rather not. I'd also rather not backtrack to an earlier save... since my autosave is now within the bunker, an older save would take me quite far back. wtf.

Scratch that, I managed to pick-pocket the key off Ramos, somehow succeeded despite not having the skill for it and without it affecting my rep.... Still doesn't make sense why i would suddenly get locked in like that. I was starting to consider trying to get all three keycards for the self-destruct seequence...
