A fun little bug

Post » Sat Apr 09, 2011 12:39 pm

I new I'd have to resort to the forums soon enough.

So, anyhoo. I've just got to Nipton. Killed the guys from Caesars Legion (He was asking for it. Quite literally), but now whenever I go to Mojave Outpost, everyone attacks me. What the hell? Unless I'm mistaken, this is an NCR base, who are enemies with the Legion. Surely they would love me for killing a bunch of Legionnaries? Anyone have any idea what's going on here? I most definatly have done nothing to anger NCR.

After you killed them, did you decide to start wearing their armor?

No, I don't actually have the armour in my inventory. I sold it. I'm assuming it's just another bug. Are there any console commands I can use to fix the issue?

Probably bug, All sorts of strange things happen with faction relations. For console commands try wiki. Or some previous save.

Ok, reloading to a previous save did the trick. Thanks. ^_^

Boaster!
I got to Nipton around level 5ish, really really wanted to kill that smug fascist bugger and all his mates, but had to bite my lip and watch them walk away. I just knew they'd have creamed me if I started anything.

I had the same problem, at level 4. Took me quite a while to get them. Reverse pick-pocket something explosive ;) I had a million sticks of Dynamite, at the time, so I quickly got as many as I could. Only had to gun down 2 or 3.

And I refuse to touch the difficulty slider!

That's why I love this game - I felt really helpless and seething as I watched them walk off. But it was a matter of surviving to fight another day.

Don't worry, Legion scum - your day will come. I'm gonna blow every one of your heads off, laughing all the way. I mean, fer crying out loud - crucifying people?
Even though I'm vilified by the Powder Gangers, I put their guys out of their misery with a single headshot each. And I went and rescued the slaves, though I got damn all thanks for it.
Well, I did have the satisfaction of sniping three Legion guards at the slave camp who never saw what hit 'em, so that was nice.

What's a Wasteland Hero to do, eh?

Thats what frag/powder mines, any explosives you can get your hands on are for=) Use line of site so they only have one way of getting to you, a rifle with a scope and ED-E is for, I wiped them all out before they got to me=D start pulling them in 1 and 2's with my scoped rifle, once they got in range of dynamite or my merc mini nade launcher they would get that, then finished them off with a shotty as they got close. If they made it though my mini 6 lanes of 3 mine field or didnt get one shotted by a head shot sneak attack. Once i got rid of his buddys and the dogs I took him out he died as soon as he got 5-8 feed away from me=) but yeah you need alot of ammo make sure you scavange and sell all you can between goood springs around it, all the way to the out post, primm etc so you have more than enough firepower/mines all saved up for that fight so you dont ent up becoming a victum of that town yourself. But I am also using Desert Armor from the fallout new vegas mod site=) Has some killer bonus's

The Legion can go svck an egg Already beat the game twice, going to do so again now with all the mods that change the world and let me continue playing though once I finish the main quest line after the battle at the damn. I think I will side with the vile mr house this time around.

I'm playing it without any gun or armour mods for now, just cosmetic tweaks and some convenience items I've modded in myself like strategically placed containers and campfires where I thought it'd be logical to have them. Added few beds in Goodsprings house so poor old Sunny wouldn't have to stand around all night while squatters slept in her bed, stuff like that. Cos I'm a nice guy, y'know?

So when I reached Nipton I just had an unpimped Varmint rifle, Cowboy Repeater and .357 revolver and standard-issue leather armour. Think I had two (count 'em) AP rounds, one measly frag mine and a couple of frag grenades. No dynamite, cos that's all in Goodsprings waiting for when I can make time bombs.

So, all in all - not enough to start a war!

But next playthrough - they'd better watch out, cos I'm gunning for the b'stards.
