Follower/Companions : Fallout: New Vegas

iv been playing this game all day and iv had 3 diff companions and to b honest boone is the best.
he is former NCR sniper(best ncr has to offer).
the goul Raul is old and only good for repairing ur gear but he can only repair whille at his shack i think but i know he cant repair randomly while in the waste.
ED-E was good for his perk he gives u, well he was good for me bcus i had 10 perception along with the perk of his to spot enemies from far off, giving me a heads-up way b4 they seen me, but he has low health and very inaccurate.
but he does hav a side quest after u talk to a certin person while he is following u.
but boone hands down is built for combat. 8/10 times he gets the head shot, very reliable. i know of two other followers locations but havnt check em out yet. doubt they can have ur back like boone :tops:

Boone is pretty decent at ranged, and his perk is nice, but I hated how he would say "Let me aim that for you next time" EVERY TIME I SHOT. So annoying. But, er, I digress. I think Veronica is probably stronger because her melee weapon could 1 shot NCR troops, and she can wear Power Armor, unlike Boone.

Boone can wear Power Armor. I have him wearing T-45 power armor but he cant wear T-51b.

NCR troops are weak boone kill 4 of thm with 4 shots at HELIOS after i armed "It". and atm i have him with Metal armor on so he dmg is thru tha roof with his scooped rifle. melee isnt my style. boone is a life saver wen fighting Deathclaws bcus he doesnt miss and usually take em out in around 5-7 shots.

Boone can wear Power Armor. I have him wearing T-45 power armor but he cant wear T-51b.

I forgot about that. I don't know why they made the T-45 non faction, and the T-51 Brotherhood. Veronica can wear the T-51 though, so you're not stuck in Brotherhood mode all the time.

i thnk its the way u played with him. if i see deathclaws i tell him to wait here and if enimies are near he'll usually crouch while waiting(which improves his accuracy) thn i go after thm and as im shooting/backing towards him, he provides aid from a distacne. that tactic always works for me. funny thing is he usually gets the killing shot wen i do that. its a testiment to his combat style which he always says hes best at.

Right after i read this i shot my pistol in the air and he said it... Oh god here we go.

With a decent Charisma Veronica does work; I'm at CHA7 and level 6 and she's been like 2shotting Nightkin.

Veronica is my first companion. I didn't set out to get any, but my repair/science was too low for EDE, and I havn't gone far enuff in Cass's quest to recruit her. So far, Veronica is awesome, she DESTROYS indoors. Its frightinging. Gave her some armor, and am enjoying her company. Good gal to have at one's back. Can't wait to run into Boone. Havn't seen that town yet however. No biggie.

i met the drunk girl at the outpost idk her name but i think i can recriut her but im not in a hurry to. boone's rifle is crazy strong and most of the times he spots enemies b4 i do so i jus let him do his thing and i jus stand there most the time lolz. and u can fix ED-E with parts like i did u dont have to use scince or repair. the parts needed are 3 scrap metal 2 sensor modules and 1 scrap electronics.

Like someone mentioned before, Cass is in the Mojave outpost, VERY southwest corner. Talk to her, and she will give you a quest, do some of those quests, and eventually she joins you. Scoped rifles are not very common. I have a scoped vermint rifle, you can find the mod in Goodsprings at the shop. The hunting rifle scope is in novac, but I havn't seen a hunting rifle yet.

Thanks, i have noticed a lack of hunting rifles as well. I have been using the cowboy rifle for about 4 levels now. Not that it is bad, its actually pretty sweet. I just want a scope because i want to snipe from across the map with boone.

ya he has unlimit ammo and i havnt had to repair anything for him yet but its useful to give him top grade armor & wep ofc, aslo make sure to set him for " keep ur distance " mode hes svery effective that way.

Where is cassidy located? Also anyone know where to get a scoped rifle?

once u leave out of goodsprings going towards the main highway(4 lane highway)go oppisite direction of The Strip and stay on that highway as if ur going out of the map and ull run into the outpost.

I dropped Cass, just to bring Lilly with me during a Jacbstown's quest.

Now I want to take Cass back, but I couldn't find her anymore. She's not at the Mojave's outpost. Any clue?

Armor and equipment given to companions doesn't degrade, IIRC.

Boone's town is directly south of where Veronica is; fast travel to I88 trading outpost and follow the highway south. Head for the giant dinosaur, and mind the ants.

I think Boone is great, but he lost his weapon. i picked up some energy weapons at Reconn and gave them to him to carry. i haven't seen his rifle in his inventory since (though it's on his back). Now all he used energy weapons or 10mm.
