Post » Tue Apr 12, 2011 5:00 am

Have yet to see anything randomly go down like the wastelanders fighting over a freezer or a man being mauled to death by a deathclaw, i thought there were supposed to be more RE's in new vegas?

some guy claims he saw one but i dont buy it, been playing for 2days and not seen one yet.

nebody here seen any like the ones in FO3?

Just random encounters with wandering gangs and such. Seen some fights between NCR patrols and Legion troops. Seen some Legion troops crush some Vipers, that was pretty funny.

Oh and I saw a young gecko hunter chase down and kill a small radroach.

I picked Trigger Discipline and Wacky Wasteland and I've only seen one thing that definitely belongs to WW and one thing that might, I'll explore in the random desert more tomorrow instead of sticking to the road.

was this closeby camp searchlight? Ive only ever seen a couple skirmishes between NCR and CL around searchlight and never anywhere else.

Though i did see an encounter(unsure if it was scripted or not) of the jackals leader and gangsters in the NV police station.

I've had some Random Encounters involving Blue Star Bottle Caps, and a potential random encounter dealing with a wandering drifter. I'm not sure about the second one though.

Only way to find out if these events arnt scripted or not is to reload a previous save and travel back there to see if it occurs again.

Ive seen things that might count as random encounters but they look pretty scripted too me, like one event is viper gunslingers setting up an ambush up on a cliff near nipton. nebody else seen the same?

Scripted, as far as I can tell. The Raiders are positioned more intelligently this time around. Not just gorey funhouses in random locations. The Raiders are positioned along travel routes now.

I have only seen NCR fight a group of Legion Recruits, but I dont know if that qualifies as a RE...

I have "Wild Wasteland " on, and have yet to see a random encounter, or two NPCs interact with something else, or an NPC getting attacked by anything...

Then again, I think Im only at 2-3 hours played.

I saw something moving up ahead of me and pulled out the binocs just in time to catch a NPC's head rolling around on the ground. The culprit? A bloatfly lol. Nothing big though.

There was a fridge on the ground with a skeleton and Suave Gambler Hat (something like that) somewhere around Goodsprings and some spooky sound played along with a little Vault-Boy image on the top of the screen when I got near it..

Pretty sure that was a Wild Wasteland thing. No idea what it references though.=(

::Minor Spoiler Perhaps::
That hat in the fridge is a reference to the last Indiana Jones movie where he hid in a fridge to escape a nuclear blast.
