Full in-game intergration of animation

I'm working on a mod that includes a bastard sword. To feel like a true bastard sowrd, I think it should be carried on the back, but handled one-handed. Obviously, I need an animation for that, but I want to fully integrate the animation into the game:
1. I don't want to substitute any equip animation
2. I don't want to have to launch the animation from a menu

So, before I embark on this animation adventure, I would like to know if anyone has been able to fully integrate an animation into the game, and maybe give me some pointers.

"Carried on back but handled one handed" including the animation is accomplished by http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14951, but it has some issues despite working with mod-added weapons. The http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24541 is mostly better as an overall mod, it doesn't make your shield disappear like the first one I linked does when you sheath a weapon, but it only covers vanilla weapons and it uses the same animation as if the weapon was still on the side.

I have seen those in the past, but neither is fully integrated into the game, and have issues. I want to fully integrate a bastard sword into the game: even if it doesn't show on the CS, have a full 1-and-a-half handed weapon class.
