The Final ''Battle'' (Spoilers)

Anyone else felt The Hoover Dam battle was a major anti-climix? All we got were a few explosions and that was that. F3 had a much more satisfying ending with Liberty Prime.

They should just let Michael Bay direct the ending.

Already looks like they did, endless explosions, forget the story then hit you hard with a good story at the end of the ending. That sounds like Michael Bay.

He can direct the action but not the writing.

Am I alone on this one though? I was all hyped for some epic showdown which was being built up throughout the game and it didn't happen.

Killing Caesar is harder than the last battle.

I dont get to kill him i think hes locked away in his tent... got to kill his buddy in that armor though, then I had that general wait and see thrown off the side of the damn by yes man, the robot army and the enclave rements make the battle feel a little more epic=)

Actually, Ceasar's probably dead...

He's got a brain tumor or something like that, and if he doesn't get treatment in game by your character, he'll be dead before the Battle at the Hoover dam.

That's why you don't see Ceasar at the end of the game if you play against Ceasar's Legion :P

Last time I played (NCR ending) I never met Caesar at all. Never used the Platinum chip for anything, never met Yes Man. The final battle was NCR mop up of the legion on the dam with lily bashing the stragglers and a long conversation with Legate (100 speech). I could have played the ending naked with a silenced .22
I think they should have had a cutscene for the bombing of the fort because on two playthroughs I missed the plane flying over.

Only a communist would think that the Enclave swooping in in a vertibird to support you is anything other than awesome. Or the Wild Card one where Securibots surround General Oliver while you tell them to throw him off the dam.

The final battle reminded me a lot of the one from Operation: Anchorage. A trivial battle sequence and a meeting with a boss that attacks you with a melee weapon and has a ton of HP if you make the mistake of eschewing the Speech route.

Well, I just finished this thing. Final battle and all.

You know what could work out well? And I say this using New Vegas as my Obsidian example, and Fallout 3 *with Broken Steel's ending* for Bethesda's example.

If like, Obsidian writes and does the first 2/3 of the MQ and does a bunch of the system details (like how the new damage threshold/ammo/crafting stuff works), and they do the intriguey side quests and all, then Bethedsa does the last 1/3 of the MQ and the ending battle, whatever it may be. Yeah.

Well, theoretically at least, right? In reality, one team doing first 2/3 and another doing last 1/3 could end up a cluster [censored].

But, well, I had to come here and um. make funky comments. yeah! Funky comments about game endings ftw.

Legion Ending: Really good. A lot of soldiers from both the Legion and NCR are battling all over hoover damn.

Yes Man/Mr House Ending: Really good especially when you confront Gen. Oliver. You get a lot of good dialogue options and unless you have a high speech level then you get to see them get owned by an army of securitrons.

NCR Ending: N/A
