It was also unbalanced.

In Fallout 3, you could get hit by missiles, fire from multiple enemies and be beaten with baseballs bats while in VATS and unless you started off with barely any health, you would walk away from it. In fact, by pulling back after each VATS attack and waiting for AP points to refresh, then VATSing again, you could be almost invincible.

In fact, with Grim Reapers Sprint, you could VATS almost constantly.


Now, you have to consider the situation before using VATS AND you're not going to be relying on it constantly.

just play easy difficulty... you wont have that problem.

I think, like with the hardcoe mode, they wanted to make the game more realisitc.

I never really understood why that was, anyway. Just because everything is moving in slow motion doesn't mean you become invincible.

Take the advice, play easy difficulty, and make sure hardcoe is turned off.

Ha! I use VATS all the time and didn't notice that I was no longer invincible. Or it didn't click I guess, because I now remember dying twice in VATS yesterday. It is kind of awesome to watch your own death in slow motion from a cinematic angle as it happens. My favorite was an NPC that killed me with a shotgun blast to the chest. My character flew straight back, arms and legs trailing, to hit the wall 3 feet behind her and leave a bloody decal as she slumped down into a seated position, head lolled to one side, hands resting on the floor. Almost made dying worth it to see that happen! :goodjob:
