Looping start menu

After the most recent patch, my system has been handling NV in an odd way.

I hit start up and my start menu loads up. I click on 'play' and a I get a User account control message asking me if I want to allow NV to make changes to my computer. I click yes, and it restarts the launcher. This keeps happening over and over again. No matter how many times I click 'play', it never let's me actually play.

All of this started with the new patch, so, I don't know what to do here.

I use several mods, and I've disabled them all for the time being, still no effect. DXDIAG in the spoiler thingy.

I just verified the cache integrity, it downloaded something because one file failed to pass, and it still won't go. I verified again, and it said everything was good. It has nothing to do with the mods, I know that for sure.

Have you tried running fallout 3 nv as admin by right clicking? You can go into your steam folder and execute either falloutNV.exe or the launcher directly. Try running them "as admin" (right click and select run as admin).
It seems your launcher is trying to make changes that it cant complete.

You can also try turning off UAC. Start menu and type in the bottom text box (search for files....) UAC. Then bring the slider to the bottom. You should restart the computer.

Tried turning off UAC, and it keeps looping no matter what I do. When I would hit 'no' on the warnings, it would say that NV isn't installed and that it can't find the installer.

This is honestly getting stupid to the point of me swearing off any and all games bethesda.

Have you tried reinstalling the game? I know bobsbee recommended it.
Or running the game "as admin"? At the risk of sounding like a broken record :grad:
Also try running steam "as admin". Then launch falloout 3 new vegas from steam.

Been running everything as Admin, have been since windows 7 came out.

And I'm trying everything I can to not have to reinstall because downloads take forever for me, and I have a daily download limit. Thanks Hughesnet satellite internet! Able to provide soldiers internet faster than a T1 line but can't get civilians anymore bandwidth or speed than dial-up. Not to mention the two-feet of snow messing with my internet signal.
