Idea for Fallout New Vagas new DLC: AREA 51

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:13 pm

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I have an idea for an upcoming DLC. Since New Vegas is based in the Mojave Dessert they should make a DLC for area 51. I know they did Mother-ship Zeta already but this doesn't have to be aliens, it could be a wide variety of mysterious things. Tell me what you think.

Why do people think that just because a game occurs out west that Area 51 is somehow smack-dab on top of the setting.

Area 51 is 2 states away.
TWO.

Area 51 is in Nevada. Groom Lake is something like 90 miles North of Las Vegas.

I'm going to say no, for DLCs I'd rather have them expand on settings and themes they've established in FNV. For example, The O:A dlc for FO3, which though I wasn't a huge fan of, expanded stuff they mentioned in game. So it was cool to get some back story then be able to jump in the DLC.

I don't really expect them to do this with most DLC but that's what appeals to me.

So, a burned man dlc appeals to me because you got a taste of some back story from the main game, then get to interact with those characters in the dlc.

Area 51 does not exist.

They could make Area 52 or something like that instead. A knock off, as is the humoristic approach the Fallouts had traditionally taken. It being a different game map definitely won't be going out of Bethesda's way. Fallout 3 expansions Point Lookout, The Pitt, and Mothership Zeta being prime examples. Especially Point Lookout, quite a big map there.
