:S :@ :(

I live in the UK and i am sure many others like me will be wondering the same thing.

Will all of these errors and crashes that we have been reading about be fixed by friday?

This issue with FO3 and its crashes has taken up many hours (even days) for me to try and simply play the game. If NV has similar errors, are they going to recognise this is a problem and try to fix it?

No, there won't be an update by Friday.
Yes, it will eventually be addressed.

Think of how many games are actually sold and then compare that with how many have reported any problems.

That's what I do :)

That's exactly it.
The only people on the boards right now are the people complaining, which is why it seems like EVERYONE is having a problem with the game
The reason this board isn't flooded with positive stuff to say is because they're too busy playing the game to bother.

Chancer are better than not, that you won't have any game-breaking issues.

My first four hours, Fallout New Vegas crashed to my desktop twice, I also noticed an enemy get stuck half below ground.
Otherwise, I am enjoying the gameplay.

You don't know that. That would give them plenty of time to put something together to deal with initial problems. It probably won't happen, but it might if they felt some of the problems were serious enough.

That would definitely NOT give them plenty of time to just whip up a patch to fix the bugs.
But that's true, I don't know for sure.

Unlikely unless your five years older then me :P (I'm 23 BTW)

Anyway it's the same with all games. Some forum people focus WAAAY too much on the (in this case) hundreds of complaints popping up then the thousands that stay way and actually play the game; thus ignoring the forums. More or less flawlesly

Well certainly not all of them no, but it is enough time to deal with any that they thought were serious enough to require immediate attention. They could easily manage to take care of at least one or two of the major bugs in a week's time. They probably won't but it is certainly possible.

You can bet that if you purchase the PC version you can expect the modding community to tend to these issues much quicker than waiting for an official patch to come out. :)

I wouldn't bet on it. Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 were all left in quite buggy state, and i hear Obsidian's track record isn't much better?

As massive as Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are I think it's not worth, company wise, to put down the serious cash and time it would take to kill every single bug in the game. Also many bugs ain't caught before the release of the game. As a dev said to me once: "There are no better bug catchers than the thousands of individuals playing our game. We are only twenty people after all" Bottom line is that it takes time to run the hundreds, if not thousands of scenarios to get that specific bug and/or glitch

I've had a few games and they've released a hot fix to increase stability within a week.

I have to say that Obsidian's track record is awful. Just look at Neverwinter Nights 2, it was *completely* unplayable when released.

its alright i think, it ran fallout 3 ok (at times) but did crash frequently. I bought this because i thought there would be less bugs and stutter problems.... whoops.

These things move at the speed of business (ie- Slow). We've got no less than 2, perhaps 3 companies (if both "Zenimax" and "Bethesda" are both involved and have separate hierarchies) with people building their little empires and throwing their egos around...

I've got a lot of sympathy for PC developers - they're constantly trying to hit a rapidly moving and changing target. With a seemingly infinite combination of hardware and software, its near impossible to ensure that a given program will work on any given configuration. That said, I have no tolerance for Console bugs based on the same reasoning, there's only a handful of possible configurations per system.
