Don't usually pre-order games, because I don't like giving retailers a 3-month interest free loan. I went to Best Buy yesterday afternoon, and picked up the very last CE copy of New Vegas they had. I was slightly annoyed because they had wrapped it so tightly with the anti-theft device that they cut guages into the sides of the collectors box. Oh well, went a head and purcahased it anyway. Opened up the box, and find a pre-order code for the mercenary pack. Its always nice to find a little unexpected extra in the box. Wish it was the caravan pack for the leather armor, but oh well.

Been having tons of fun with the game so far. I went all Chuck Norris/Walker Texas Ranger with my character, with my 44 magnum and high hand to hand skill

Anyone else find freebie pre-order codes in their copies? I wonder if they accidentally slipped a code in all boxes, not just pre-orders.

Yeah, I purchased the regular edition at Gamestop yesterday (no pre-order) and found the classic pack's pre-order code in the box. Nice surprise, that.

Seems their first shipment has codes in the packaging. I say this, because usually it either comes like this, OR they give you a code at the register when you pick up your pre-order.

yep, as far as i know at gamestop all the first shipment of them had the code inside i'm sure it's like that at every store though. :goodjob:

OK. I'm really confused now. I did a Best Buy pre-order, got the coasters in the pre-order box, on the outside of the box it said mercenary pack, available 10/19, fine, got the actual game box yesterday (collectors edition), and found a code for the caravan pack inside, no mercenary pack , but the caravan one. So where is the mercenary pack that was for the pre-order ? Was the caravan pack I got a mispackaging thing? Are all Collectors Editions coming with the bonus armor wheather pre-order or not?Was a code card supposed to be in the pre-order box? Like I said I'm really confused.

Probably just a shipping snafu. I'm sure that a few shipments got screwed up. A few retailers that weren't participating in the pre-order promotion might have received boxes with pre-order codes. I wouldn't sweat it, I'm sure that someone will provide all 4 bonuses in a mod at some point in the very near future.
