Strange. I disable the Classic Pack esm in FOMM and verify that it's unchecked in the launcher then start a new game, but the game still gives me the pistol, vault suit, canteen and stimpacks as I wake up at the beginning of the game. Why would this be the case?

Untick it with the launcher and move/rename the corresponding .nam file.
