Is this microstutter?

Hey guys, am having a problem which I believe to be microstutter. [post='http://www.youtube.c...h?v=6q_AI5lVnzI']This video[/post] shows what I am basically getting.

Started to notice it after I took off all .ini tweaks. Was getting a large fps drop in towns or looking at towns or specifically the NCRCF with .ini tweaks. Was recommended to turn off the tweaks and there was no more fps drop, getting a good 60 (Vsync).
But then I started to notice this stutter, maybe I just didn't notice it before but now it is everywhere. The new patch (.314) didn't help me and even tried turning all the .ini tweaks back on to troubleshoot, but now there is more noticeable stutter.

D3DOverrider does nothing.

I tried ifpsclamp=60 and most of the stutter went away but I know this is not a fix.

I have some ideas but need some help. Could my sound card driver be out of date? FFd show codecs? How do I know if there is too much background content running? What about the 4gb fix, but have read not to use this unless using extensive mods.
Will the NV stutter remover be my only hope? I know about the damned engine and its 64hrtz thing, so does the 64hrtz fix only come with the NV stutter remover? Also I know that the author of NV stutter remover is working on a new version for the new patch, but has this actually helped fix what I am experiencing previously?

Am on Ultra settings, with water on low, shadows medium, 4x AA and 15x AF.

Yeah, that's because microstutter isn't the right word for what is in the video. Microstutter is micro, as in so small it's hard to even see but god forbid somebody ever point it out because you'll always see it from then on out and it will bother you.

All graphics cards have microstutter to some degree due to the nature of rendering 3D graphics. But in an SLI setting since the two cards share rendering duties and finish at different intervals, if your framerate drops below your refresh even just a tiny bit you'll be susceptible to microstutter. So you'll get say 55 framses in a second but those frames are not evenly spaced apart within that second. A >30fps youtube video can't capture microstutter, you have to actually see it.

What's in this video is just what happens when you move sideways focused on one thing. Quake III and Unreal Tournament did the exact same thing, it's not a glitch I wouldn't think

I don't believe this should happen, ifpsclamp basically fixes it. I just started to notice it after turning off .ini tweaks,(thanks for your advice unwinding, I get no more lag in towns) but then I got the new patch and it was so noticeable. As I said before, I even tried turning the .ini tweaks back on. Even after turning them on, there was now no lag in towns and the skipping was still there. (.ini tweaks are now off again)

I am hearing the stutter remover is helping.

If ifpsclamp fixes it, then yes that must be the dreaded engine stuttering (which some attribute to 64fps). ifpsclamp causes slow motion though so it's not a solution, guess it doesn't hurt to try the stutter remover

This seems to only effect certain setups for some reason

Regarding drivers and codecs, just look if you find newer ones available on the net. If so you could install them.

I've never extensively researched into microstutter, as I thought it to be an issue with SLI/Corssfire setups, which I don't have.
But I'm sure you should be able to find some info regarding this issue in the forums (use the search function).

Whats to much background content may depend on your system.
You can try disabling services in your task bar like Winamp agent, OOO quickstarter, Nero stuff, etc.

I get micro stutter in Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas with or without Crossfire/SLI. It's my biggest complained against the games, but more so the Gamebryo engine!

If iFPSclamp fixes it is the micro stutter bug, or what I prefer to call hitching. (hitching: To move or raise by pulling or jerking.)

I use the "micro-stutter" or hitching fix and it's a god send.

Nvidia was able to duplicate a stuttering issue with NV on their official forum. Thing is, it honestly doesn't effect every setup for whatever strange reason. For example, I never saw this on a 9800 gtx or my 460 gtx but it seems a lot of mostly nvidia owners (especially SLI) with 8800 cards have mentioned it. If i used the ifpsclamp it doesn't change a thing. What an odd issue.
