Honest Hearts Issues

Right, I've only been playing this DLC since last night but I've encountered one general problem.

At times, the game will randomly crash/freeze with no reason at all as to why it's happened. I have 2 examples thus far, but I'm reporting this because I was given no indication, be it frame stuttering or loading issues, that it was going to occur.

Example 1 : I had just exited Glass Chime Cave I believe and I was on the upper walkways of The Narrows when the game just crashed. I did not have Follows Chalk or any other companion at the time and I haven't even started the main DLC Story missions yet (I still have to do Tourist Trap, Roadside Attraction but I've done Gone Fishin').

Example 2 : I've just cleared the whole of the Three Marys Canyon and just as I reached Red Rapids Docks it crashed again. Follows Chalk was "with" me but he was caught in the side of the canyon wall almost at the end of the Three Marys (by end, I mean dead end, not entrance). As far as quests go, I'm still in the same situation as stated in Example 1.

Further Notes : I have completed Rite of Passage and tbh, I'm desperate to finish the DLC because I'm constantly over-encumbered. The DLC did also crash when I first started it in the loading screen after the introductory cutscene whilst my achievement popped.

These are the only potentially game breaking/game ruining issues I have personally so far encountered with Honest Hearts. I'm at Level 40, I'm on Save 1150 (approx), I've done most Quests in the Mojave and the Story Arc is sitting at the "Secure the Boomers support/Kill Mr House" part. I've also finished Dead Money and have taken some Dead Money items into Honest Hearts (just Vera's Outfit I think). I also made Ricky leave before the DLC started.

I hope this information helps. As always, if you devs have any questions, just ask and I'll help as much as I can.

I've read your thread and I empathize but you should probably not just RAGE at the Devs on the forums. Most of the Devs don't even visit these forums and GStaff takes all the sh*t because the Devs have made a buggy game. If you were the Community Manager/Liaison and just had loads of people raging at you everytime you visited the forums, you'd probably just ignore them. Sure, "it's your job", but you're the damn community manager. You, personally, didn't make the game, the Dev Team did and given all the abuse GStaff gets, I know if I were in his (or her, I'm not sure) shoes I'd just ignore rage posts altogether.

Now bro, I'm not having a dig at you or anything, but what I'm trying to say is make your thread less "URE GAEM IZ SH1T" and more "This is a serious problem that I'm reporting and it really needs fixing fast". It makes it more readable and GStaff should relay the information back to the Dev Team.

This game is WAY better now post TU4 than it was on release, I mean, I couldn't play it at all until then so I count that as an improvement, but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done with regards to memory leaks causing crashes, glitchy areas like the Ultra-Luxe and Red Rock Canyon, and DLC issues especially each new DLC as it gets released. Also there are still quite a few glitched Quests out there like Wheel of Fortune and Beyond the Beef.

All in all, Fallout : New Vegas is still a "work in progress" imo, but if they manage to release all the DLC and eventually smooth out all the glitches, I believe FNV will be remembered for surpassing Fallout 3 and providing a much deeper and richer experience. If Obsidian want that recognition, then they'll fix the game, plus they'll be working on it to keep DLC sales up. I'm personally concerned about how much work they'll be doing after Lonesome Road gets released in July. If the game is still broken after then, then even I'll rage because given development cycles, Obsidian will be picking up a new project soon (if not already). I just hope everything is fixed before that happens.
