I was wondering about something I read a when I was installing this Fallout New Vegas,I'm typing this as I'm installing the game,I seen that steam said something about needing to be logged into your Steam account and that was about then the screen changed but I think it was going to say that you need to be logged into your Steam account or you won't be able to play the game.Now here is why I'm asking this I got this game for PC and I'm going to be moving to the country and the olny service I will be able to get is dial up and nothing else so does this mean when I move I can not play this game and I just wasted my money.

Ok I looked at what you hyper linked but I did not see anything there about Steam and if you can still play this game without enternet.

Although I don't like Steam, my main concern was playing without the Internet. Seems like that's your core issue too. I asked to have the thread locked when I was told in that thread that you can play without an internet connection. There is a link in that thread to using Stream without the Internet.

I haven't done that yet since the game is currently in the the mail to me. But I want to play without an internet connection

Thanks for the response Savlian,This si the first time I have ever used Steam and I think it svck's BIG TIME It has taken over a half an hour just to download the first batch of update's nad that is sickening,I think they really need to turn up the download speed at Steam to make the downloads go faster,and to think Steam want's XBOX Live to use there service I hope I would be struck dead and the most crulest manor before having to use Steam ever again.I can also tell you I'm a really big fan of The Elderscroll's games and if Steam is used in the next PC version I won't buy it for any Platform.

Man I don't want anyone to think I'm Harping but Holy Crap I just tried to do an update for the Steam Client Service's to make sure I had the latest version of Steam and to see how long it would take to check it took 20 minute's and 15 seconds I time it this is Crap I thought the idea was when you want to play a game your supposed to be able to do it fast not wait hour's on end for update's go in.

Sorry for your issues and I agree with you completely.
It svcks but any game company that uses Steam with their games just lost a customer.
I'm at work and it has decided to update F:NV whether I liked it or not and now I'm unable to play for the next two hours because the internet at my work is garbage...which is why I don't play internet based games at work.
I can't even patch the game on my schedule???
What a joke.

Steam is very stable (now) once you get the game installed and patched up.

I took 15 mins to install FNV, now steam is taking over half an hour to install the patch.

Trouble for me is that I don't want the game on my ******* C drive, I want it on my J Drive, which has 400 + Gig spare, unlike the C which has like 15 now. Having transferred automatically installed games from C to J before, it's a svck.

You guys are failing to realize how much of an improvement steam is over the cluster[censored] that is GFWL.

Also, an hour to patch? Are your steam ports forwarded, or are you still stuck in the 90s with dial-up?

Ya know...OK. Maybe I just have to get used to it.

Personally, I'm an Auditor for Hilton so I'm sharing a wireless connection with about ninety other people right now.
Dial-up is probably faster.

Either way you look at it they need alot more Bandwidth to allow the games to update there Patch's alot faster.I find it very disrespectful when a person has paid good money for something and then what little time in a day they have to enjoy there game an update comes along and you spend more time installing an update rather than playing the game itself.
