Steam offers the posibility to delete the local game content.

Will it install itself automaticly after this?

Are all savegames still available after the new installation of the game?

I'm afraid of trying due to I've 21 hours play time which I intend to keep and won't play again

Saves are located in My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Saves and won't be deleted when you uninstall the game. Although if you want to be 100% certain that you will keep them, you could take backup of them.

will Fallout be able to use the old safegames after a new installation?
Or will the new installation ignor/overwrite the old savegame files?

It should use the old ones just fine. Like mentioned before, if your worried, back up the savegame folder before uninstalling/reinstalling. Then replace.

You will be able to use the old saves fine. Just watch out if you had a lot of mods installed. Using a save that had tons of mods, and loading it without any of those mods installed can cause corruption.
