Can't save him...

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 12:49 am

I'm doing the White Glove quest,I'm at the part where you talk to a guy about what's going on. He gives you the low down and immediately after you end the convo, he gets shot and dies. Now I've been trying to save him, but i don't think it's possible. There is an assassin that comes in and I kill him before he even has a chance to pull out his lil silenced pistol. He never get's a shot off, I've even shot the pistol out his hand. But the dude still dies. Is there no way to save him? Since I know what to expect I've been killing th assassin as soon as he appears. But the dude still somehow dies. Is this just a scripted death that no matter what happens. He's gonna die, period?

Nope, sorry.

Enjoy the second buggiest quest in the game (though your question isn't one of them).

Figures. Well I tried. You were a nice NPC. I'll avenge you bro. It's still stupid that he dies even if he DOESN'T get shot. Not even in the head and by a silenced .22 with regular bullets. I mean what was that assassins gun skill, 2 million?

Weird glitch I have with the assassin: his corpse has this permenant state of "Steal" attatched to it. Usually this only lasts momentarily when it happens to other enemies, but with him his body is always a red container.

That is indeed weird. he's a regular old corpse for me. Nice and blue (I changed the default colors to blue, yellorange was agitating me).

It's no more lame then the fact you are using past "lives" to intercept an assassin you shouldn't know is comming  He is supposed to die, you're messing with the script like a Holywood writer on a video game movie.

Once you play the game once, or however many times it takes to complete all the quests, every time you replay you know whats coming. So I don't appreciate you calling my decision lame. As such, I would appreciate if you don't respond to any of my posts, ever. As I consider your post "flamebaiting" as a mod would call it and I REALLY want to say more than this. So when it concerns me, keep to yourself. Or I will report you, since if I respond in the manner I want I'll be considered at fault.

Oh, and have a nice night.

Yeah ok, I was reffering to the fact he still dies without being shot is lame...but I can see how that might have come out wrong. It's not night here it was 7:30am when I posted that, sorry my humour is very dry.

Obsidian didn't give him any dialogue, so you can't save him.

Well then, that makes a difference! Sorry myself for coming off so strong.

And yes, it's incredibly lame. Especially considering I saved and reloaded a good 6 times before I decided to hop on the forums and confirm my suspicions. Fail on my part.

It's night...well "morning" here now which is why I said that :)
