What's with all the Star Trek?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 11:42 am

Seriously, are Obsidian trying to tell us they're avid trekkies or something?

Mr House is voiced by the guy who played Odo, Marcus the supermutant is voiced by Worf, Caesar is plaed by the guy who was First Minister Shaakar, even [censored] Wesley Crusher voiced the robobrains! Its starting to feel like I'm in a DS9 holosuite simulation when I'm playing New Vegas!

Maybe Obsidian are trying to tell Paramount something....

Marcus was originally voiced by Michael Dorn iirc

other than that, they could have used the money better, like in the music rights acquisition department.

imo

I don't think I encountered a single robobrain in NV. Where are they?

Because they're good voice actors, and, since they don't seem to have been that busy since Star Trek, were probably reasonably cheap?

The good ones you can reconize from game to game but the great ones you can not tell. Jennifer Hale has done a ton of games yet you would be surprised by some of them when you see her name in the credits.

Spoiler
One in the basemant of Helios One. Actually, make that at least 2 down there. Not sure where the others are without pulling up GECK.

There's a couple of them at H & H Tools as well.

I vastly prefer the spread of voice actors. Oblivion had like six total voice actors and it seriously ruined my immersion at first.

Wait a second, how does the OP know so much about Star Trek? I only recognize one of those voice actors.

Come to think of it, I would love it if Obsidian did a Star Trek adventure game, similar to 25th Anniversary & Judgment Rites.

Pfft, why pay testers when you can sell your game and get the consumers to PAY YOU to test your product?
