ok well im at the point in the main story where u have to get the platinum chip from benny. i didnt kill him at the casino and he fled to ceasers fort. the thing is i cant go in without them attacking me. i have the ear of ceaser and go in disguised as legion but nothing works. is there a way to lower my bad reputation so that the legion doesnt kill me? can i go in by force?

How does that happen? Did you talk to Bennie? Does that result in him running away? LMAO that's hilarious!

Go in by force (if you're strong enough) and kill every Legionare in The Fort, you might have trouble in Caesar's Tent though, then kill Benny and take the chip.

yea i made it all the way to ceasars tent. those guards are frakking tough. couldnt get through them. killed ceasar tho but the guards got me before i could flee. thinking bout going back fully loaded. might change up my companions. switch boone for lilly or sumother close quarter fighter.

If you can't take them down, switch the difficulty to Very Easy and take them down and switch it back up to what you have. I did that and I pwned them with my Assault Carbine, I put on Med X, Buffout and Psycho, and healed when my health is low.

I killed Caesar and got his glove and ear and no, it doesn't affect the story unless you're siding with the Legion (which you aren't, right?)

no. im all buddy buddy with the ncr rite now. wouldnt have any trouble if i was ok with the legion. just leveling up a bit more before i go in.

Kill them.

That's your problem, right there. Boone will automatically make every Legion member you encounter hostile. Fire him, do your Legion stuff, then head back out and rehire him afterward - you'll be able to get through everything peacefully that way, and can come back to wipe out the Fort later on.

seriously? ive left him and rex back on the strip and headed to the fort alone, un-armed and dressed as the legion and they still attack. gonna fire him to see if it works. thanx

Only other thing I can think of as a possibility... have you ever worn armor from a faction the Legion hates? NCR armor maybe? Sometimes the disguise effect does not disable itself when you remove the armor, and the only way to fix it is to put that same armor on and remove it again, making sure you get the "you are no longer disguised as XXXXXX" message.

Yeah unfortunately in your situation only thing you can do is kill your way up to the top. When you get to Caesars tent I highly suggest that instead of fighting in a tight enclosed space with ballistic fist spamming boxers just walk into the tent and run right back outside. Just run backwards like a mad man in circles around Caesars camp and you will eventually shoot them all down.

legion armor is also quite vulnerable to plasma mines, and i have heard they do not particularly enjoy nuclear bombs, either

In Caesar's tent, one really really easy and cheap way to kill them all is to use Turbo.

Equip the strongest weapon you have, pop a Turbo, run to the opposite most side of the tent and shoot at them. When the Turbo ends and they are running up to your face, pop another Turbo; dodge and run to the opposite most side of the tent again.

Rince and repeat.

I did this at level 13, they barely hit me because they were just running back and forth in slow motion. I used almost 10 Turbos, and 5-10 Stimpacks, one Psycho, one Med-X, one Slasher and one Buffout. And some Sunset Sarsaparilla and Purified Water.

The weapon I used was This Machine, my Guns skill was 23 though lol...

got it done. i lured them outside where i set up a small mine field of plasma mines. finishing off the rest was easy. thanx for u help
