Nerd Rafe perk? : Fallout: New Vegas

I took the nerd rage perk where it automaticly ups your strength to 10. When i go into my pip boy it says i still have a strength of 7. Is nerd rage working in the backround or what cause it shows i have it in my perks but when i look at my s.p.e.c.i.a.l. levels it shows my strength still at 7? Whats the deal am i at strength 10 and it just doesn't say?

its because you need to have 20 or lees of healt for this perk work !!!!!

Whenever your health drops to 20% or below, your strength is raised to 10, and your damage threshold boosted by 15.

Should be what it says your health must be below 20% for it to work also increses DT

wow i [censored] up i thought i get 10 strength and then the DT boost comes into play when my health is low. [censored]. thanks for the help guys
