Suggestion - Radio station that plays your own music : Fallout: New Vegas

I seem to recall that other games (Civilization IV comes to mind) allowed you to point to your own music collection for in game music. Can that be added as a patch or even DLC?

Don't get me wrong, the included radio's great, but the songs repeat far too often and aren't quite my usual style.

I voted yes, but fortunately I enjoy oldies. I wouldn't put any modern songs on the playlist it was just ruin the experience IMO. I know plenty of songs that would fit the setting and theme of Fallout.

The idea is not to replace the existing radio, but to allow for more selection. I agree that the radio works great with the theme, but if have to hear "... big iron on his hip" one more time...

Maybe you can get access to the feature after level 5? Open to suggestions.

This. I would add to the library of songs. Throw in some Fallout 3 music perhaps? More Andrews Sisters for sure. Sanatra, Elvis, Wayne, etc.

I would kill for a mod that adds some more (theme-appropriate) music to the radio. Bring back the stuff from Fallout 3 and add some more 40s/50s-style stuff.

Agreed. There is such a mod for Falllout 3 (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1559 :laugh:) and it is nice to have some personalised music in the game.

I don't think it's necessary

I've turned down the background music and listened to my own music from my ipod/music saved on the console for quite a few games (xbox 360). I know for PC you can add in your own music as well. For PS3 however, I'm not sure if the same thing can be done as the Xbox in terms of listening to music while the game is playing.

I personally just turn the in game music down and listen to itunes on my laptop if I want a different kind of music.
Even though I wouldn't use this feature it would be neat.

I agree that there are a lot of out of band solutions (e.g. you could hire a Peruvian flute band to stand next to you while you play), but if it was in game it could be incorporated somehow; perhaps they could intersperse Mr. New Vegas every few songs or something.

Whilst i do appreciate the efforts of the developers, i would also enjoy making my own score as i did with GTA

I'd like to have the option of my own custom radio station (XBox 360). It doesn't ruin anyone else's experience, considering it's a single player game, so I don't really see how it could hurt at all.

Adding some effects, like randomly fading out with a weak signal, static, etc....would be really neat also.

True it may spoil the feel of the game depending on what music you add, but thats up to the player I guess, personnally I'd try to get hold of some music that would match the game

plenty of mods for just that in FO3, and I fully expect there to be for FNV too. (check the various Nexus's... Nexii? lol)
