help! cant complete the VERY first quest. bugged? : Fallout: New Vegas

Its the quest from the first girl at Goodsprings. She asks for you to get two items, (roots of some sort).

I can find the first one near the tower. The other root, near a house, is what the compass is telling me, isnt there.

I cant complete the quest because I cant find that other quest item, its not there!

The root is in the ground, right near a tree/bush, inside of the fenced area, a few feet from the school. Just keep pointed to the ground and continue clicking/pressing furiously until you find it (or see your cursor change....))

Look closely at the ground as the items are easy to miss
