No sound when talking to ppl

hey all, i am having a sound issue. i can hear footsteps and guns shots everything in the wasteland but when i go face to face with ppl i get no sound at all. any ideas?

I was having the same problem....

Win 7 64-bit..

It seems my audio board is not supported by win 7...

I had to change the in-game audio settings to stereo and then it worked...

i had this problem. if you have you sound confic to 5.1 or 7.1 and you dont have the right number of speakers you will not hear the voices. try changing you sound output to stereo.

i got this issue when i swoped to head phones from my 5.1 speakers. you would think that win 7 would be smart enough you realize.

You change the number of speakers (or change to 2.1, 4.1, 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1) outside of the game in Windows through the Windows Control Panel or the Sound Control Panel that is specific for your soundcard.

The specific method to get to the Audio Control Panel will vary depending on what soundcard is used. Here is a general guide.

In Windows 7:
Click Start->Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Sound.
Double click the "Speakers" icon or whatever is your soundcard, that will open the Properties window for the soundcard.
In the Properties window there should be a tab for the soundcard. On that tab click the "Settings" button.
That should open the Audio Control Panel for the soundcard, change the "Speakers" settings there.

In XP:
Click Start->Control Panel->Sounds and Audio.
Under "Speaker Settings" click the Advanced button.
In "Speaker Setup" select the number of speakers or speaker type as in stereo or 2.1 or 5.1 or whatever.
