Help- What is causing this?

After re-installing a bunch of mods like OOO and better cities (also running the entire FCOM setup) some sections of the map, particuarly regarding water or the sea bed, have simply been erased from my game! I have no idea what would be causing this, as there are no issues with the mod listing and 4EDIT finds no conflictions. Is this likely a problem with the Better Cities setup, and if so is there a commonly recognised way of solving it?

Wish I hadn't messed with it to begin with, but had to solve the damn Skingrad mages quest bug.

Well they mentioned somehting about uNumDepthGrids=1 in the Ini...
I checked my Ini, there is no uNumDepthGrids. Along with most other settings that thread suggests tweaking. I don't quite understand why.

Messed around with the suggested settings but nothing changes.
For some reason my Ini. has no uNumDepthGrids option, which was supposedly the problem, but adding the setting has no effect at all.

Other than this, I'm utterly stumped.

Are you editing the INI located here......C:\Users\Your user name\Documents\My Games\Oblivion" and not the Default one in the Oblivion Dir?

Edit.....I just found mine in 2 clicks of Find next.....Open the INI in the My documents folder..Click edit>Find...type in "Depth". Click find next.....

This is the water setting I have. Looked up the default Ini online and the default doesn't list a DepthGrid either :/
Doesn't make sense to me, but nevermind. Adding one doesn't fix the problem is all I know.

What's your load order?? I had this problem too. I think it was when one mod moves the water in the cell to where it's not meant to be i.e. underground. Have you by any chance got Unique Landscapes?? Post your LO. I think this is a conflict problem, not an .ini problem as the other one may have been.

EDIT: Probably ignore me. I'm not sure if that was my problem after thinking back. But worth a try in anycase, if nothing else works.

Ignoring the LO for now, did deleting the .ini make uNumDepthGrids appear??

EDIT: Is your merged patch your bashed path??

I am using the new water shader so some numbers will be different.
Have you tried....rename your INI to "Oblivion.BAC" and let the Game Build you a New one? if you changed fonts remember to bring those edits to the New INI.

Actually yes, deleting and re-creating the Ini did give me the option (which was at 1) however running this didn't change the water displacement at all. Started a new game to test, still the same even from fresh. Looking like the Ini isn't my culprit.

Try deactivating ulxCheydinalFalls and the corresponding patch for Better Cities. Then see if anything changes. It might not go away but it might change. Perhaps. Try it :D. This is presuming the screenshots you took are outside Cheydinal.

Your Right I looked at the screenshots again....thats conflicting plugins.....I have had this in the Past...think it was nothing more than re-arranging plugins?

Do you use Tes4lodgen? I also use a program called...Land Magic....it fixes things like land tares.
Edit: i recognized it also cause in my game....see the Rock next to the Tree @ end of bridge?....In my Game there is a Floating Chair there...lol...From Tamerial Travelers!!

Aha!

Removing the Falls and Fall compatability patch did remove the problem (along with the ENITRE area) however it gave me an idea for a fix. I went back to the load order and moved both Cheydenal Falls and the BC Patch right to the bottom of the LO.
Solved it c: F'ing magical.
Cheers for the ideas fellows, couldn't have figured it myself.

Might want to report to this to either the UL or Better Cities threads, so they know there's an issue with some LOs, as this has happened twice now :),

EDIT: Also, what's your LO now, because I haven't been to Cheydinal in a while so it would be handy to know how to fix the issue if I've still got it :P

I just moved the Che. Falls and the Better City Che. Falls patch right to the bottom, above my bashed patch :turned:
Considering doing the same for the Imperial Isles, because I recall there being displacement of the sea bed (like a bottoless ditch)

Some observations.

Did you BOSS your load order? It looks suspiciously out of order. Better cities .esp should be loading high in the order and the better daedric shrine esp's should all be together. The UL mods should be lower.

Where's your bashed patch? I suspect you're not using one as I don't see the All Natural Indoor Weather Patch. Heavy load order + no bashed patch = trouble.

The All Natural ReadMe is very clear that it incorporates NW weather and should not be used along side it. It also needs Wrye Bash. Bad things will happen if wrinklyninja reads this.

You could probably use a few UL Compatibility patches. Check the http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13834. I see at least one for better daedric shrines, could be more.

You should get the http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27710 and patch up all the DLC's.

Enhanced Economy is a suggested update to Living Economy.

The water problem could possibly be conflicts with Alive Waters and the UL's. Try removing it. You shouldn't have to move anything in your load order to avoid conflicts and that'll typically create more.
