Eyesight to the Blind -spoiler-

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 5:45 am

Hello, I finished installing the item on the tower where the Nightkin were at. So now the quest says to talk to Mcnamara that the device has been installed. I go into the bunker, head to Mcnamara but all he does is say "I am preparing a defense against Hardin, come back to me later and we can talk."

So I leave the bunker, came back right away, still same dialog. So I leave to Nelson and sleep in one of the bed for 2 weeks straight in game time, came back to talk, still same dialog. So now I worked on about 6 other side quests, then came back to talk, still same dialog.

Right after I saved I shot Mcnamara's head just to see what would happen, and everybody in the bunker turned into enemy so I just revert to last load since I didn't want that to happen.

On one of the site they said "Solution: Exit the Hidden Valley area and return later. Make sure all other BoS quests are done. Lockdown lifting will be prevented by staying inside. Confirmed." but I have no idea what "other Bos quests" are exactly, the only quest related to Brotherhood of Steel is the Eyesight to the Blind, and I am currently unable to finish it because of the bug I said above.

I also did a side quest for the girl in the shop in the bunker to return the missing laser pistol. What was interesting is that when I worked on this quest it didn't show up on my pip-boy as a quest. So I had no way-point on where to go, or who to talk to during this side quest, but I was able to finish it.

So has anybody found a solution to this bug? or whatever this could be?

P.S.: I play on Xbox 360.

Go to the 188 Trading post and talk to Veronica.

I talked to Veronica, now what? I went back to talk to McNamara after making Veronica my follower but there is no change to the dialog.

I tried to initiate the quest I could make you care, but so far Veronica hasn't talked to me about it, or gave me any kind of option on the companion wheel.

I tried all of these to activate the quest I could make you care...

Camp McCarran - Inside the terminal building. You must bring her to the center set of doors or the set of doors closest to Colonel Hsu. The third set of the doors will not trigger the conversation (bug?).
Camp McCarran - Discussing the OSI's current objectives with Dr. Hildern and starting the Side Quest: There Stands the Grass
Vault 3 - Enter Vault 3 with her (or just get within the vicinity of the entrance door.)
Casa Madrid Apartments - After talking with Tom Anderson and starting the Side Quest: The White Wash
Old Mormon Fort - Talk to Julie Farkas with Veronica in tow.
Silver Rush Gambling Hall - Get close to the energy crates near Gloria Van Graff inside the Silver Rush
Nellis Air Force Base - After listening to Pete's lecture in front of the mural (don't interrupt him until he is done)
Nipton - Just walk around, eventually she'll make a comment
REPCONN Test Site - When you ask Jason Bright about what the Great Journey is, she'll talk to you afterward.
Nelson or Cottonwood Cove - Again, just walk around a bit.
Lucky 38 presidential suite.
If you have trouble getting her to start the quest you can go to Gibson's Shack S of Helios One and use the console to unlock the terminal there, this will start the quest (albeit not from the beginning).

I am playing on the PC, and I have been to almost all the places with no lunk triggering the quest. I then went to Gibson's shack as suggested. I found the comm terminal but can't use it because it says I need a "key". Where do I get this key?

I have seen that quote too at one of the site. I did find the terminal but I don't know where the key is at. I'm guessing Gibson has the key, but I can't find Gibson. Last time I remember her sitting outside the door of the garage.

She doesn't seem to have the "key", I already tried that. (Great minds think alike. ;-)

As for the "key" its not on Gibson.

Spoiler
Originally in the Quest line Veronica is supposed to go talk to the Elder who in turn rebukes her. She then turns to you and asks if you can help her find a means by which to convince the elder to listen to her. Talking to her she then remembers that the previous Elder before Mcnamara left his notes on a computer in a shack near Gibsons. That is the computer terminal everyone is talking about. Instead of needing a "key" its actually Veronica who is supposed to unlock the terminal however if you aren't in the correct part of the quest she won't do it unless you use Console commands or just unlock the terminal with a console command.
