So the reviews are in...

...and I couldn't care less.

In my opinion, this captured the charm of the first 2 Fallout games with the engine of the 3rd. The crafting, customizing, the more diverse wildlife (geckos rule), the "western twang" not-quite-politically-correct dialogue, and all the humor of the first 2 games shine in this one.

I liked Fallout 3, but I always felt that Fallout 3 lacked the "personality" of the it's predecessors. Glad to know Obsidian gave it a resurrection.

Now it actually feels like I'm playing "Fallout in 3D," as oppose to "Oblivion with guns."

Thank you Thank you Thank you THANK YOU for making this game.

The game has potential that is significantly hindered by its technical shortcomings.

If this game worked without bug (or just an occassional, non-show stopping one), I'd score it a 83/100 so far.

But since we can't ignore those shortcomings, it's sitting at a 46/100. Still, if Obsidian/Beth fix things up, the score can go up from there.

Seeing this thread I expected another troll complaining about countless game breaking bugs but I figured I would click it anyway. I'm really glad there are enough people that share my opinion oft his fantastic game. I actually never played Fallout 3 so I can't compare it directly but I've heard it doesn't compare to the first two which were works of art. This is why I was glad when I found out it was being developed by Obsidian rather than Bethesda. Frankly I have lost a lot of faith in Bethesda lately.

3 days is not really enough to make a good judgement. give it a couple of months and you'r opinion about the game will probably be a little different. for better or worse. I remember that I thought oblivion was twice as large as morrowind even after a week of playing it. but after I explored everywhere I was dissapointed to find that it was half the size and the game feel was overall generic. still love it (but its not as great as I thought it was during the first few days. that goes for people who currently hate NV, in time they might actually come to love it.)

7/10 times, "bugs" in computer games are related to computer errors rather than the game itself.

Just saying.
